Plans for a village enhancement scheme in Bohola was revealed at the recent meeting of the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District.
The aim is to enhance the village green, enticing passing visitors to stop, and to have a pedestrian/cycling friendly route that leads down to the church.
The overall cost of the project is estimated at 325,000.
Foxford based Fine Gael Councillor Neil Cruise says Bohola is the first settlement village coming in from the East of County along the N5.
The next step is to engage with the community in a public consultation process.
Cllr. Cruise has been telling Midwest News 40,000 was already allocated to the village last week under the outdoor recreational funding.
