A GMIT Mayo lecturer has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright TechImpact scholarship.
Dr Seamus Dowling will spend three months next summer extending his research into the application of machine learning into cybersecurity infrastructure at the University of Texas.
The programme chair for new industry driven cybersecurity programmes in GMIT was honoured to receive the scholarship.
He says that his research informs the delivery of GMIT’s programmes whereby students have access to emerging concepts impacting cybersecurity in industry.
The Fulbright programme was founded in 1946 and it has enabled academic and cultural exchanges between more than 2,500 Irish and American citizens since 1957.
