A truck collided with a railway crossing near Ballymoe this morning.
The incident occurred at around 9:30am on the N60 Ballymoe to Roscommon road.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash at the Bellacagher level crossing, which is approximately three kilometers outside Ballymoe.
Gardaí confirmed to Midwest News that there are significant tailbacks at the location, as the railway barrier is not operational.
The driver is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Irish Rail spokesperson Barry Kenny says that commuters on the 7:35am Heuston to Westport train can expect delays of around 40 minutes to an hour on the service.
No other services between Westport and Dublin will be impacted, as Irish Rail personnel will be on hand to conduct traffic.
