The county Sligo communities of Achonry, Mullinabreena and Tubbercurry are deeply saddened by the sudden death at the weekend of local teenager Eoin Mulkeen.
Eoin, aged 16, from Achonry died following a tragic accident on Saturday.
He is survived by his parents Shane and Ann Marie and his sister Kate, grandparents and extended family.
He was a talented sportsman who played GAA and rugby.
In a tribute on social media, Sligo Rugby Football Club say they're deeply saddened to learn of Eoin's passing saying he played with the club's Under 17's and was “an integral member of the squad”.
Coolaney / Mullinabreena GAA club say they are rocked to the core with the shocking news of Eoin’s death. They describe the young man as “epitomizing the definition of the word dedication”.
Local councillor Paul Taylor says the entire community is stunned and shocked at Eoin's passing
Eoin's remains will be removed to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mullinabreena tomorrow for Funeral Mass at 3 o'clock, with burial afterwards in Achonry Cemetery.
