Three Mayo students will appear on tonight’s RTE Late Late Show.
Emily Foy, Aoife Heaney and Kellyann Walsh who are all first-year students of Mount St Michael secondary school, Claremorris are finalists in the Student Enterprise Awards which are taking place in Croke Park today.
The girls designed and marketed a new product, ‘ReflectoTags’ for cattle. As they are all from farming backgrounds, they wanted to prevent cattle from being killed by cars and potentially causing harm to road users if they broke out.
Meanwhile, A 16 year old who developed an anti-microbial face-mask storage case has won top prize at the Student Enterprise Programme National Finals.
Monaghan student Matthew McVicar's project 'CopperCase' cleans face masks of Covid 19 and other viruses or bacteria in about three minutes.
The product is now on sale in pharmacies across Ireland and the UK.
Runners up in the senior category include an online store to source and sell vintage clothes, and a book aimed at addressing bullying.
