A protest is taking place today outside Sligo University Hospital, in relation to maternity restrictions.
It's part of a week of rolling protests at hospitals around the country organised by AIMS Ireland - the Association for Improvements in Maternity Services.
It comes as the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly confirmed today that 14 of the country's 19 maternity units are complying with the HSE's direction that restrictions on partners should be lifted.
However, the Minister said there are local reasons why maternity hospitals in Letterkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford are not fully compliant with the guidelines.
Chair of AIMS Ireland Krysia Lynch is adamant that partners should be allowed to attend for the full labour process, as well as scans and ante-natal appointments.
While the HSE has directed that hospitals can now lift the restrictions on partners, she told Midwest News this lunchtime that they are still in place in a number of units....
