This Bank Holiday Weekend, visitors to the county’s beauty spots are urged to park responsibly.
Mayo Road Safety Officer, Noel Gibbons says with the county’s green spaces attracting more visitors as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown, many locations are much busier than usual. He is reminding people not to cause any obstruction when parking at these locations.
Poor and inconsiderate parking can cause problems for emergency vehicles, and can lead to inconvenience for other road users and pedestrians, as well as harming wildlife and the countryside.
People should only park in official carparks and parking spaces and should not park on grass verges or block roads. Inconsiderate parking causes obstructions on roads, which can make it difficult for emergency vehicles and farm traffic to pass .
