150 new jobs have been announced in the Galway Gaeltacht this morning by Spidéal-based company Aran Biomedical.

In response to growing business demand, they plan to increase their workforce by 150 over three years with the creation of highly skilled jobs in Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain Management.

In addition, the company is planning to treble its manufacturing capacity with the establishment of a new facility in An Spidéal and it is anticipated that this development will be fully completed by mid-2025.

The business has provided highly skilled employment in the Conamara Gaeltacht and their 120 employees since 2008, specialising in the custom design, development and manufacturing of medical implants.

The West Galway firm is a client company of Údarás na Gaeltachta and is one of the leading biomaterials manufacturers in the medical device sector.

Peter Mulrooney CEO of Aran Biomedical told Midwest News that the expansion will allow them to meet customers supply needs in the biomedical textiles field.
