Gardai in Mayo have confirmed that they are continuing to investigate the disappearance of Sandra Collins from Killala two decades ago.
A fresh appeal for information was launched last December, on the 20th anniversary of her disappearance.
A Garda spokesman told Midwest News today that they met with the Collins family the week before last to update them on the investigation, which remains live.
Sandra disappeared on the night of December 4th 2000, and her jacket was later found on Killala Pier.
Her siblings believe she was killed, and have appealed on many occasions for information on the whereabouts of her body, so that she can be buried alongside her parents and brother.
Gardai say this remains an active investigation, and have appealed to anyone with information to come forward and give the family the closure they deserve.
