A man was charged with stealing a vehicle from a forest in Mayo earlier this week.
The man in his 20’s stole a car parked at Raheens Woods, near Castlebar on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 9:50am and led to the suspect being stopped by Gardaí at a filling station in Mulranny.
The man fled from the scene, but the Gardaí chased him down and subsequently arrested him some distance away.
The man was subsequently charged with stealing the car, as well as a number of other thefts which occurred on previous dates, at a sitting of Castlebar Court later that day.
