Mayo County Council should advertise all dogs that have been impounded, on the council website and on social media platforms to ensure that pet owners have an opportunity to retrieve missing pets. That’s the view of Castlebar based councillor Donna Sheridan.
Cllr Sheridan is to raise the matter at this Monday’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council.
She is also keen to have an animal welfare officer employed in Mayo, as at present there is no animal welfare officer based in the West.
