Fire crews from Roscommon and Mountbellew attended the scene of a fire at the HSE Health Centre Complex in Ballygar this morning.
A passerby raised the alarm at 7:15am, after noticing smoke coming from the building.
The front of the building was completely gutted in the blaze, which took hold very quickly across the GP practice.
The back of the building remains structurally sound, but received extensive smoke damage.
Local GP Dr Martin Daly says his practice has been offered the use of the old Nursing Home in the village to administer Covid-19 vaccines as scheduled this weekend.
He has been telling Midwest News that there is no suggestion of any malicious intent behind the fire.
