Half the restaurant owners in the country are likely to cut their losses and shut up shop for good if they can't reopen this summer.
That's according to the sector's main trade group, which says the government should commit to letting them open when a enough people are vaccinated against Covid-19.
The Restaurants Association is also backing calls for stricter quarantine measures to allow the domestic market get back to normal.
Adrian Cummins, chief executive of the Restaurants' Association, says that would offer some certainty.
