Details

The section of Castlebar’s main street that was closed off to traffic yesterday following debris coming off the roof of a building and falling on a car, remains closed to traffic today.

A spokesperson for Mayo County Council told Midwest News this afternoon that the section of Ellison Street that was closed off yesterday afternoon remains closed, while further investigations are being undertaken. 

A section of footpath remains open for pedestrians and diversions are in place for traffic. 

Any update in relation to the reopening of the street will be confirmed as soon as possible.
