Twenty countries now feature on the Government's mandatory hotel quarantine list.
They include Brazil, Austria, the UAE, South Africa and 16 countries within sub-Saharan Africa.
Meanwhile fines for non-essential travel abroad are being increased.
Travellers arriving into Ireland from these regions will have to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks, and legislation on this will go to cabinet next week.
Meanwhile the Taoiseach says the current fine isn't discouraging enough people from going on holiday, and will be increased.
But Founder and Chair of Cityjet, Pat Byrne, says it's totally unfair.
Penalties are set to increase to 2,000 euro from 500.
