Gardaí are urging caution on routes across the region this morning following plummeting temperatures overnight and lingering snow.
The main routes have been gritted but extreme caution is still advised, particularly on secondary routes, where treacherous conditions are reported.
A status yellow low temperature and ice warning is in place nationally.
Met Eireann says temperatures this morning could fall to as low as minus five degrees in parts.
The alert will run until 10am.
