Mayo students were recognised and commended at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2021 Awards Ceremony yesterday.
Two awards were presented to students in the county for their impressive projects entered in this year’s virtual exhibition.
Caoimhe Monahan and Sophia Hession from Mount Saint Michael Secondary School in Claremorris were highly commended in the junior section of the competition’s technology category for a project called Trackmed – an app created to remind people to take their medications.
Katie Fraser, Tamara Schulte and Siobhan McGrath from Ballinrobe Community School were also highly commended in the intermediate section of the technology category for their entry entitled Defibrillator Finder: Ballinrobe.
They designed an app to help locate defibrillators in the event of a cardiac arrest.
