The Belmullet Electoral area has the highest number of Covid 19 cases per 100,000 population in the country over the last two weeks.
About one in every 50 people had Covid-19 in the region over the last 14 days.
A new report also shows some border regions continue to have very high incidence rates, while due to the backlog of cases it's likely the figures are underestimates of the spread of the disease.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre says the country's 14-day incidence rate between December 22nd and January 4th was 674 per 100,000 people.
But some local electoral areas across the country had much higher rates - some up to three times higher.
Belmullet LEA in Co Mayo was the worst, at 2,111, followed by Adare-Rathkeale LEA in Co Limerick, at 2,010.
Outside of that, the border region was the worst.
Dundalk South LEA had a rate of 1,982, and some areas of Donegal and Monaghan had over 1,500 cases per 100,000 people.
Areas of Cavan, Dublin, Waterford and Wexford also had rates of close to 1,000 or above.
