Met Eireann is advising that this evening, overnight and into tomorrow morning Connaught counties may get a dusting of snow, as rain is likely to fall as sleet and snow from sunset this evening into tomorrow.

Temperatures dropped as low as -6 degrees in parts of Connacht and Ulster last night, and it’s more of the same  on the weather front for the next number of days, according to Siobhan Ryan of Met Eireann.

Siobhan told Midwest News that day time temperatures today will not rise much above zero in parts of the midlands and west.

She explained that this cold snap is likely to continue into the weekend, and for the most part the days should be bright, dry and very cold.
