The teenager who was tragically killed in a hill walking accident in Kerry yesterday afternoon was a native of Salthill, Galway.

17 year old James Harrison was walking with his parents at Bull’s Head at Lispole in the Dingle Penisula when he slipped and fell.

His body was recovered and removed to Kerry University Hospital yesterday afternoon.

James is survived by his parents Maire and Matthew and brother and sister.

He was a student at Colaiste Iognaid in the city and played football with the Salthill/ Knockcarra GAA club and soccer with Knocknacarra Football Club.

In a statement on Facebook, Cumann Salthill Knocknacarra says “Everyone is deeply saddened by the loss of our minor star James Harrison” and extends sympathy to his parents and siblings.

While Knocknacarra Football Club says “devastated to hear of the untimely passing of one of our boys” and also extends sympathy to James’s family.
