Repairs to a burst watermain impacting water supply of customers on the Monivea Road have now been completed.
This watermain burst on the Monivea Road, near the Clayton Hotel, occurred last night and the Briarhill & Doughiska areas were affected, leaving up to 800 houses without supply.
The Galway Clinic was also affected.
Irish Water working in partnership with Galway City Council have completed repairs to the burst and supply should now be restored.
It may take some time for those on the extremities of the network to have full supply restored.
There may also be a period of discoloration due to mains flushing however allowing the tap to run will enable this to clear in the system.
Irish Water say they understand the inconvenience such outages cause and would like to thank customers for their patience.
