Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the N26 earlier today.
The incident occurred on a stretch of the road between Foxford and Swinford at around 1.30am this morning.
An articulated lorry lost control during severe weather conditions and icy roads.
Midwest News understands that material damage was caused to an electricity supply pole and a wall.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
The road remained closed this morning as the vehicle was recovered.
It reopened shortly after 12:30pm.
Gardaí say inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
