People are being urged to watch out for a recent rise in Revenue scam calls.
The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau says victims are receiving phone calls from a what appears to be a '051' Waterford number.
The callers are trying to get personal information or bank details of the potential victim by claiming they are either owed a tax refund or a bill payment is required.
Gardaí are advising anyone who receives a call claiming to be from Revenue to not give out any information and to hang up immediately as callers can be persuasive.
