Public health doctors have voted 94 percent in favour of strike action in a long-running row over inadequate staffing and resources.
They claim the Government is failing to provide consultant contracts for specialists who play a key role in the battle against infectious diseases like Covid 19.
Dr. Ina Kelly chairs the IMO's Public Health Committee, which will meet on Monday to discuss what happens next.
