The Tánaiste has said he didn't instruct Justice Minister Helen McEntee to recommend Seamus Woulfe be appointed to the Supreme Court.
It's after the Minister revealed Leo Varadkar told her Mr Woulfe would make a very good judge as she was considering the candidates.
It's led to charges of political interference in the process by opposition parties.
Mr Woulfe has come under scrutiny over the past number of months following his attendance at the infamous Oireachtas Golf Society dinner in Clifden, which was in breach of Covid-19 restrictions.
Leo Varadkar says the proper process was followed by the Minister.
