The young man who died following an assault at a house in Swinford on Monday night will be laid to rest in Knock on Saturday.
24-year old Michael McDonagh from Carrowmore Drive, Knock was pronounced dead at the house in Carrabeg, Swinford, after Gardai were alerted shortly before 11pm on Monday night.
His Funeral Mass will take place at 1 o'clock on Saturday in the Church of St John the Baptist, Knock, with burial afterwards in Knock Cemetery.
The funeral is private, for family only, and the Mass will be live streamed on the Knock Shrine website and on Murphy O'Brien funeral directors Facebook page.
Yesterday, 31-year old Matusz Batuik from 1 Carabeg Estate, Swinford was charged with Mr McDonagh's murder.
He appeared before Castlebar District Court, and remanded in custody to Harristown Court in Castlerea tomorrow morning.
