A county Mayo man is among three Irish bankers who have been granted access to the prestigious partnership group at global investment bank Goldman Sachs.
Newport native Richard Chambers, the son of former Mayo Senator and County councillor Frank Chambers, joins the elite 1% at the top firm.
Mr Chambers is the company’s global head of repo trading and global co-head of the short macro trading joint venture in New York,
The partnership totals fewer than 440 in a worldwide company that employs around 38,000 people.
Richard Chambers holds a BSc in Financial Mathematics and Economics from NUI Galway.
Goldman named 60 new partners this week. This is below the number it typically names. Goldman’s partnership comes with a $1m salary.
