Party leaders are expected to meet to discuss the fallout from the controversy surrounding Supreme Court Judge Seamus Woulfe.

It follows a warning from the Attorney General that Mr Justice Woulfe's clash with Chief Justice Frank Clarke raises 'serious constitutional issues'.

The Chief Justice advised Seamus Woulfe to resign, but he refused to do so.

Under current rules a judge can only be removed from office if he is impeached by the Oireachtas for 'stated misbehaviour', however there is no clear meaning for what this entails.
