The Foxford/Pontoon Greenway is due to commence construction, tomorrow which has been warmly welcomed by Deputy Michael Ring and local Councillor Neil Cruise.
Deputy Ring allocated funding of €200,000 to this project in February 2020 under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme when he was a Minister.
The funding allocated was for the construction of the first phase of the Foxford/Pontoon Greenway.
This will ensure the development of a 1.5km Greenway from Bellass to Clossagh townlands at Foxford for walkers and cyclists.
Councillor Cruise says he lobbied strongly to get this project moving and is delighted that works will commence tomorrow.
