Survivor testimony and records on how Mother and Baby homes were run will be part of a national archive under new laws planned for next year.

That's what Children's Minister Roderic O'Gorman will tell an Oireachtas Committee hearing later -- as he admits trust has been "damaged" by the recent row over the records of a state inquiry.

He also wants to have the mass grave in Tuam exhumed and the remains identified.

Labour TD Sean Sherlock says the government has serious work to do to restore trust with survivors.
