Around 200,000 medical card holders are facing delays in dental treatment.

It is partly due to more than 260 dentists dropping out of a government funded scheme.

The Irish Dental Association is warning that many are leaving the scheme after a lack of support through the pandemic, according to the Irish Independent.

The group says there is a 'crisis looming' as patients find other dentists or start paying privately.
