A vigil will be held outside the courthouse in Castlebar later today to highlight the limited access adoptees from Mother and Baby Homes have to their personal records.
Barnacarroll woman Martina Carney spent part of her childhood in St Patricks Mother and Baby Home, Co. Dublin and she is one of the organisers of the event.
Demonstrations have been held across the country calling for the 30-year seal to be lifted on records relating to these institutions, with an online petition from Aitheantas amassing nearly 200,000 signatures.
The vigil takes place outside the courthouse in Castlebar from 3pm.
Martina Carney told Midwest News that the vigil is to raise awareness about how little information adoptees have on their origins.
