Priests and clergy are exempted from regulations around the 5km travel limit under Level 5 Covid Restrictions. That was confirmed this morning by the Minister of State at the department of Health, Frank Feighan.
The Roscommon based Minister says he secured clarification on the matter from the Minister of Health Stephen Donnelly.
The Minister says that members of the clergy are exempted from any of the travel restrictions whereby they travel to lead worship or services remotely, administer to the sick, or conduct funeral or wedding services.
Funerals, burials and related services are designated as essential services.
