A 51-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of an Irish woman in Australia 23 years ago. The murdered woman’s father is originally from Westport.
Bradley Edwards was yesterday convicted of murdering 27-year-old Ciara Glennon in Perth in March 1997.
He was also found guilty of the murder of another woman, Jane Rimmer, a year earlier, and was acquitted of the murder of a third woman, Sarah Spears, in 1996. Her body has never been recovered.
He will be sentenced in December.
Ciara Glennon’s father Denis, is originally from Westport.
Denis Glennon played football with Crossmolina Deel Rovers before emigrating to Australia.
