A county Roscommon second level college has confirmed that it’s been informed by the HSE of a positive case of Covid-19 in a student within the school.
A statement issued by the school says the case is being treated by the HSE as a casual contact.
The student is reported to be in good form and is A-Symptomatic at this point.
The school principal says they are following all protocols in place as part of its Covid-19 response plan and are acting under the advice and direction of the HSE in its management of this case.
Local Public Health Minister Frank Feighan says situations like this are inevitable as we learn to live with Covid and schools are no different.
