No more than 10 people from three different households will be allowed gather in family homes over the next seven months.
The Irish Independent reports the measure will form part of the government's new long term Covid-19 plan that's to be published on Tuesday.
Political Editor, Phillip Ryan, outlines the new strategy:
"There will be five different restrictions depending on the spread of the virus and where you live.
One being the least severe and five being the most severe.
Even in the best case scenario you're still only going to be permitted, within your house, ten visitors from three separate households and that's going to be in place for the next seven months until at least the end of April."
