Anyone walking or driving along the Main Street in Castlebar will have noticed the recent splash of colour in the town centre, as Castlebar Tidy Towns has set flower beds around the base of the 21 ornamental trees that line the town’s main thoroughfare.
Castlebar Tidy Towns is a long established vibrant association, working hard to enhance the appearance of the county town, but like similar groups nationwide its work ceased with lockdown last March.
As restrictions eased last month, it reconvened and decided to take on a new project “Colour Me Castlebar” in an effort to bring a little joy to hard pressed citizens living in a pandemic era.
The voluntary group is always looking for new volunteers to help with the effort.
