30 teenagers from across the region were among 130 from Ireland, Northern Ireland, the USA, and Azerbaijan who gathered online for Foróige’s Leadership for Life Youth Conference.
25 of the participants were from county Mayo and a further five were from Sligo.
The conference was launched on Monday via Zoom and brought together teenagers to learn how to become leaders in their own lives.
During the week-long conference the teens learn crucial life skills such as empathy, decision making, communication skills, critical thinking and team-work.
The delegates, aged 15-18, graduated from the Foróige Leadership for Life Programme yesterday and will also have the opportunity to complete a university recognised qualification in Youth Leadership and Community Action from NUI Galway.
Seán Campbell, CEO of Foróige, said “The Leadership for Life programme enables young people to develop the skills, inspiration, vision, confidence, and action plans to be effective leaders.
