Up to 100 people have been attending daily morning Mass this week in the Holy Rosary Church Castlebar, as some Covid restrictions were lifted on Monday last.
The size and design of the Castlebar Parish Church, allows for the additional numbers, as the building is designated into two separate zones with separate entrances and exits– with more than 4 metres dividing the distinct sections.
That’s according to Castlebar Parish Priest Fr Conal Eustace.
He told Midwest News today that he is delighted with the response of parishioners to the new regime.
Weekend Masses only resumed in the Holy Rosary Church last weekend. At that point the church could accommodate 50 people or less.
Fr Eustace says so far, demand for places at Mass has not exceeded capacity.
