A Mayo bus company says that the public have thus far complied with the new laws mandating the use of face coverings on public transport.
Corduff Travel operates buses across Mayo and the Greater Dublin area and they have revealed their customers have welcomed the new laws.
Michael Corduff owns the bus company and he told Midwest News that their drivers will advise passengers to wear masks, but in the event of non-compliance they will refuse entry to their coaches.
He says that the transport industry has been wiped by covid-19 and cited the quarantine rule decimating their trade in the tourism and tour sector and also internal trade transporting sports teams.
Mr Corduff told Midwest News that the sector has been ‘wiped out’ by reduced capacity numbers and plummeting passenger numbers.
