The man charged with the murder of Detective Garda Colm Horkan has been remanded in custody for a further two weeks.
A court sitting was told that Stephen Silver, with an address at Aughaward, Foxford, Co Mayo, was unfit to appear before court this morning.
The 43-year old was due to appear at Harristown District Court by video link but Judge Alan Mitchell said he had received a sick note.
The court was told that Silver was being detained at the Central Mental Hospital.
The State’s application was that Silver be remanded in custody for two weeks to appear before Harristown District Court by video link on the 24th of July.
The court was told that it would take time to prepare the book of evidence.
