Funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Delia Collins of Islandeady, Castlebar who passed away over the weekend -and was one of Ireland's oldest residents.

Delia, who lived with her daughter Mary and family in the townland of Leitir, Islandeady celebrated her 106th birthday last December.

She attributed her long life to hard work on the farm, a love of music and an odd glass of Bailey's and the company of friends and neighbours.

Delia was pre-deceased be her husband Patrick and son Peter.

She's survived by her daughter Mary, sons John and Paddy, grand-daughter, great-granddaughter and extended family.

Her funeral Mass will take place in St Patrick's Church, Islandeady on Wednesday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

The funeral will be private, for family only.
