Tomorrow, Satyrday, the 53rd Castlebar International Walking Festival will hold a virtual walk for participants around the world.
The international event that attracts hundreds of walkers annually from around the world was cancelled for 2020 last March at the start of the Covid 19 lockdown.
Traditionally the Walking Festival that includes road walks and mountain rambles takes place in July in the county town.
This year, everyone is invited to mark the occasion by adhering to the Covid restrictions, and get out tomorrow and walk wherever you are in the world, and record your walk on the festival’s social media site.
Michael Baynes a long time organiser of the International Walking Festival has been telling Midwest News more about tomorrow’s event.
