With phase two of reopening the country now underway, Mayo County Council says all of its playgrounds will reopen over the course of this week.

The Council is currently assessing and inspecting all equipment in its 54 playgrounds across the county, with the objective of reopening them between today and next Friday.

When playgrounds are reopening, Mayo County Council is advising that all children be accompanied by a parent or adult, and that public health guidelines in relation to physical distancing and hand hygiene are adhered to.

Parents are advised to bring hand sanitiser with them when visiting playgrounds, and ensure that all litter is taken away after visiting a playground.
