The economy will begin to take off from Monday under the Government's road map to reopen the country, but people must change their behaviour to deal with the threat of Covid-19.
That's the message from the Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring, who acknowledged that the acceleration of the road map is not without risks.
The Mayo TD was one of a number of Ministerial voices who were advocated for speeding up of restrictions, including the travel distance from 20km to anywhere within a person's own county.
The road map for re-opening the country has been reduced from five stages to four and a number of other measures have been brought forward.
Deputy Ring told Midwest News that it was necessary to speed up the road map so that the economy could get going.
