Sligo-Leitrim Independent TD Marian Harkin says she is willing to engage with a grand coalition to help provide solutions for the future of agriculture across the region.

It comes as Green Party TD Ossain Smyth told The Sunday Times that Harkin, Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice and Clare TD Michael McNamara were people they 'could work with'.

Smyth and Green Party Senator, Ballindine native Pippa Hackett questioned the feasibility of forming a government with members of Denis Naughten's other regional group of Independent TDs.

Deputy Harkin told Midwest News that she is willing to help find solutions to the various challenges facing the country in the wake of the pandemic, particularly the future of agriculture across the region.
