People are being encouraged to conserve water for essential use and avoid using it for watering gardens or power washing cars and patios.
Irish Water says after an unusually dry March and April, and with the medium forecast for less than the usual rainfall, they need to conserve water for essential purposes - such as hand-washing, cooking and sanitation.
Irish Water say there are no immediate concerns, but they are continually monitoring the situation.
It wants people to conserve water for essential purposes rather than watering gardens and power washing.
The company also wants businesses in particular to check for leaks and to turn off unnecessary water in any buildings which may be temporarily closed.
