Four Leader projects in Mayo have received funding for just under €180,000.
Erris Tourism is the largest recipient with just over €120,000 to purchase the necessary maintenance equipment which will enable the Golf Club to expand its activities with the newly developed nine additional holes that will increase visitor numbers.
Funding of just over €37,000 has been allocated to Aidan Anderson at Iceford House on the Quay Road in Ballina.
This will go towards landscaping and upgrade of car park to facilitate tour buses and events using the cross-country course as well as extending the arena and cross country course with fences, posts, railings and converting old sheds into handling area for horses.
The Mescan Brewery in Westport has received just over €10,000 to purchase new equipment and just over €10,000 allocated to Seirbhisi Cúram Chill Chomain Teo for a feasibility study to determine the potential for a caravan park in Kilcommon and associated tourism related activities.
Minister Michael Ring told Midwest News today that this is a major announcement which will provide a significant boost for these four projects.
