A snow and ice warning remains in place for Connacht until 11 am this morning.
The warning was effective from 6pm yesterday evening, with Met Eireann forecasting wintry showers that will bring some accumulations of snow, especially on high ground.
AA Roadwatch is warning that road conditions are slippery this morning in parts of Sligo, Roscommon and east Galway - particularly on the M6 and M18 near Galway city following hail showers in the Athenry area.
Several collision have already taken place on these roads, so extra caution is needed.
Sleet showers have been reported across Co Mayo, and frost in places have left some roads in a slippery condition.
Motorists are advised to leave extra time to de-ice their vehicle before setting out, and slow down on icy roads, staying further back from the vehicle in front.
