The increase in the proportion of women on Irish boards is welcome but still far too slow.
That’s the view of Fine Gael General Election candidate in the Roscommon/Galway constituency Aisling Dolan.
The Ballinasloe based councillor says the latest data from the Balance for Better Business Review Group shows the proportion of women on Irish boards has risen from 20.9% in March 2019 to 25.3% in September 2019.
Cllr. Dolan says although this exceeds the target set for 2020, there needs to be more ambition as having gender balance at all levels of Irish business is vital.
